New Report - A Contemplation on Unity

Gemma Kelly • August 6, 2026

A inspiring new report "A Contemplation on Unity" has been released from Compassionate Ballarat.

Compassionate Ballarat recently held a Contemplation on Unity event as a follow-up to our Seeds of Compassion Project, where local Year 6 and Year 10 students shared their compassionate wishes for our City.

Unity was one of these wishes and in this inspiring event, five speakers from across Ballarat spoke on Creativity, Respect, Social Indicators, Civility and Living and Dying in Unity. Those attending also gave their ideas and these have been captured under headings of Individual Actions; Community-Led Actions; Systems Level Actions, in a report that you can read here.

We are already partnering with Respect Ballarat, the Civility Project and Ballarat Hospice Care to work on achieving these actions.

If you have any comments or recommendations for promoting higher levels of unity in our city please send to compassionballarat@gmail.com

Do you need help or know someone who does? If you do, then this booklet is for you as it brings together all the food, shelter, support services, and learning services across Ballarat into one place. To make it easier in these cost of living times this booklet provides direct contact details, so in most cases you won’t need to go online. This 2025 version has been updated and so provides many more services than our previous brochure. Let’s look after each other in Ballarat.
