Compassionate Ballarat is part of the global Charter of Compassion comprising over 430 cities around the world working to make the world a more compassionate place. Compassion Ballarat (CB) is a network that connects the compassionate work occurring across the city and provides educational resources, organizing tools, and avenues for communication. For the past year, the CB Steering Group has been working across the city in areas of policy, education, health, business, and the wider community.

Designing Compassionate Spaces

Recently Compassionate Ballarat organised a forum to discuss the intentional creation of nurturing and connected spaces that hold those suffering mental distress. This issue is especially important in the city of Ballarat which, per head of population has the highest rate of suicide in Victoria.

Tree by Tree by Tree

Compassionate Ballarat recently took part in the global Greening the World project.This project involves choirs of children from around the world singing the song 'Tree by Tree by Tree' This video beautifully shot by Erin from Yum Studio will be part of EarthX in April - EathX is the world's largest environmental expo, conference and film festival. Thank you to Parks Vic and the children from Lal Lal Primary School – it’s a lovely nurturing video to watch.
